Recently our site was hacked by person(s) unknown and shut us down. Apparently our webmaster was not on his game when it comes to keeping up with all of the security updates for the site. Joomla released version 1.5.8 which made public a couple of vulnerable holes within the template that we use. Hackers immediately took advantage of this and exploited these holes on any and all Joomla version 1.5 users. We were not the only ones. The Nevada State Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators, www.nviaai.com was another victim of the same attack. So let this be a lesson to all of you. KEEP ALL OF YOUR SOFTWARE UP-TO-DATE ON ITS SECURITY PATCHES! |
